Feature/#485 notion separation of loaders and generators

Issue #459 should go on with the work based on these changes.

Just wondering, is GenericMaterialGenerator still a good name or would MaterialGenerator be enough, since the generic was maybe only added to make clear that its not a loader but a generator??
